Safeguarding first, coaching philosophy second

Anyone coaching children needs a background check, a safeguarding certificate, first aid and two references. That's not bureaucracy - it's the minimum, and an application that treats it as an afterthought signals a club that treats it that way too.

So this template asks about each explicitly, with expiry dates, and asks for the references up front. Because responses export as a spreadsheet, the club also gets a register showing whose certificate lapses next month.

The same questions, in the same order, every time

Applications that arrive as emails and attachments are impossible to compare - one has the dates, another has the budget, none of them have both. You end up rebuilding each one by hand before you can make a decision.

A single form fixes that at the source: every application has the same fields, so reviewing is reading a table rather than reconstructing one.

Run by volunteers, on a phone, at the side of a pitch

Club admin happens in evenings and car parks. Whatever collects registrations, availability and subs has to work in thirty seconds on a phone, for a parent who has never heard of it and will never make an account.
