Every date, because the deadlines are unforgiving

Immigration advice is shaped by a timeline: when someone entered, when their leave expires, when a refusal was served, when an appeal window closes. An enquiry without those dates cannot be triaged, and a deadline discovered late is sometimes a deadline missed.

So this template asks for each date explicitly rather than inviting a narrative, and asks whether any correspondence has a deadline on it. It also asks about previous refusals and overstays - the two facts most likely to change the advice and least likely to be volunteered.

Why ask it all up front

Half-finished information is worse than none: it looks like you can begin, and then you can't. A client who fills in one page has told you enough to quote, schedule and prepare - without a single back-and-forth.

It also sets the tone. A form that asks precisely, and only once, reads as a business that has done this before. That impression is doing real work while your competitor is still emailing "quick question".

Conflict checks and the facts, before the first meeting

The initial consultation is expensive time. Names of other parties, dates, what has already happened - collected in advance, they let you run a conflict check and arrive knowing the matter.

A written intake is also a cleaner file note: what the client said at the outset, dated, unedited, in their own words.

It works on a phone, on a bad signal

People fill these in from a car park, a waiting room, a sofa at 11pm. This form is one small page that opens the instant they tap the link and submits without needing anything clever in their browser - so an answer sent on two bars still reaches you.
