Committee Signup Form

Ask for hours, not enthusiasm
Committees fail when people join on a wave of goodwill and discover it's two evenings a month. Nobody wants to admit that in a room, and by the time they stop coming the work has already been assigned to them.
On a form it's an easy question to answer honestly. Asking for available hours and a preferred committee up front means you fill roles with people who can do them - and you can see immediately which committee is oversubscribed and which needs recruiting.
Ask what you need to place people well
A name and an email gets you a list. Availability, interests and experience get you people you can actually use - and it's far less awkward to ask on a form than in a phone call.

Questions
Can I list several committees on one form?
Yes - the template offers them as a multi-select so someone can express interest in more than one, with a separate question for their first choice.
Can we collect nominations rather than volunteers?
Change the wording and it works either way: ask for the nominee's details plus the nominator's, and add a tick box confirming the nominee has agreed.
Can I close sign-ups when I have enough?
Yes - close the form and the link shows a short closed page instead of the questions. Reopen it whenever you like.
Can I email everyone who signed up?
Export the responses as a spreadsheet and use whatever you already send email with. ava42 collects the list; it isn't a mailing tool.
Do people need an account?
No. Only you have an account. Anyone with the link can fill the form in, with no sign-up and no app.
Can members update their own details?
Yes - publish the form and send the link with your usual mailing. Each submission is a dated record of what the member told you, which is exactly what you want when a register is questioned.
