Test Drive Request Form
A test drive request form should take about ninety seconds and tell you three things: which car, when, and whether this is a buyer or a browser. Everything else can happen at the showroom.
For garages, dealerships, body shops and mobile mechanics.
Short form, because a test drive is the sales pitch
The temptation is to qualify hard before handing over keys. Resist it: a long form loses the customer to the dealership down the road that asked for a name and a date.
So this template asks only what you genuinely need in advance - the vehicle, a date, a licence confirmation and whether there's a part-exchange - and leaves finance, insurance and trade-in valuation for the conversation you'll now actually get to have.
Stop booking by phone tag
Half your customers would rather book at 10pm than call at 10am, and the ones who do call reach a voicemail while you're working. Every missed call is a booking that went somewhere open.
A request form takes bookings while you're busy, asleep or driving - with the details you need written down rather than remembered.
Registration, mileage, symptoms - before it arrives
A car you know nothing about is an hour of diagnosis you didn't book. Registration, mileage and a plain description of the noise let you plan parts and time before the keys are on the counter.
It also stops the two most expensive misunderstandings in the trade: the job that was bigger than the quote, and the courtesy car nobody arranged.
It's a request, not a calendar takeover
You stay in control: requests arrive, you confirm the ones that work. No syncing, no double-booking, nothing to install - just the details you need in the order you need them.
Yours to change, immediately
Nothing here is fixed. Rewrite a question, reorder them by dragging, add your brand colour, delete half of it. Save and the live form updates - there's no separate publish step and no deploy to wait for.

Questions
Do I need to see a licence before the drive?
You'll still check it in person, but asking people to confirm they hold a full licence and how long they've had it filters out the requests that were never going to happen.
Can I ask which specific stock car they want?
Yes - most dealers add a text field for the stock or registration number from the listing, and put the form link on every listing page.
Does this book the slot automatically?
No - it collects a request, and you confirm it. That's deliberate: real diaries have exceptions, and a form that promises a slot you can't honour costs more than one that asks.
Can I limit the options people can pick?
Yes. The service and time-of-day lists are yours to edit, so people can only choose from what you actually offer. You can also close the form when you're full.
Will I know straight away?
Yes, if you want to be. Turn on live notifications and every request is emailed to you the moment it arrives; otherwise collect them and read them in your dashboard.
Can I ask for a registration or VIN?
Yes - they're ordinary text questions, and asking for both is common. What you can't do yet is look a registration up automatically; the form collects what the customer types.
