Project Inquiry Form
A project inquiry form is the front door of a one-person business. It has to be short enough that good clients finish it and pointed enough that you can say yes or no from the answers.
For freelancers, independent creators and studios of one.
Two questions do most of the filtering
Budget and timeline. Everything else on an inquiry form is context; those two decide whether the project exists. A form that asks fifteen questions and neither of them is a form that generates meetings rather than work.
So they're both required here, as ranges rather than numbers - which is easier to answer honestly and precise enough to act on. If the two are incompatible, you can say so kindly in one paragraph instead of discovering it in week three.
Quote faster than the person they emailed second
Most clients ask two or three businesses at once, and the first useful reply usually wins. What slows you down is rarely the pricing - it's not knowing enough to price it.

A brief is worth more than a call
You are the sales team, the delivery team and the invoicing department. The cheapest hour you can save is the one spent extracting a brief from someone who has never written one - so ask the questions in the order you need them answered.
A written brief is also your protection. Scope creep is much harder to argue when what was originally asked for is on the record, timestamped.

What if I lose enquiries by asking about budget?
You lose the ones that had no budget. Independents who add the question almost always report fewer enquiries and more work - which is the trade you want.
Should I say my rates on the page?
A starting price, yes. It costs you the enquiries you'd have declined and buys you credibility with the ones you want.
Can I ask for photos or files?
Not yet - uploads are on the roadmap. In the meantime, most people ask for a link to photos, or reply to the response with an email asking for them. Everything else about the job is captured here.
Can I see where each quote request came from?
Yes. Add a hidden tracking parameter to the link (for example one link on your site and another on your Google profile) and it's stored with the response.
How fast can I put this live?
