A written order is an order nobody mishears
Room service by phone is a game of transcription: a room number heard wrong, a modification half-noted, an allergy mentioned in passing. Then the wrong tray goes to the wrong door and the guest has waited forty minutes for it.

Questions
Should this replace the phone?
Sit alongside it. Some guests always prefer to call, and a form should never be the only route - but most will use it if it's faster.
Can we take payment?
Charge to the room, as normal. Ask for the room number and the guest name, and confirm the charge on the form so nobody is surprised by the bill.
Can I take payment on the form?
Not yet. Most people use this to capture the order and then invoice or take payment on collection - which also means you can confirm availability before charging anyone.
Can I limit what people can order?
Yes. Options are lists you control, so only what you actually sell appears - and you can close the form when you're at capacity.
Will I be told about new orders straight away?
Yes, if you turn on live notifications: each order is emailed to you as it arrives. Otherwise they collect in your dashboard.
Does this replace a booking system?
No - it collects requests you confirm, which suits private hire, functions and smaller rooms. If you need live table availability, keep your booking system and use forms for the enquiries it handles badly.
