Aftercare and healing

Healing times vary a lot by site: earlobes take about 6 to 8 weeks, cartilage 6 to 12 months, navels 6 to 12 months, and nipples 6 to 12 months. During that time the piercing needs cleaning, must not be changed or removed, and can be set back weeks by knocks, swimming or sleeping on it.
